can you make a…?
My very first commission was a little bear bonnet, and "can you make a…?" is still my favourite question. A jumper with your little one's favourite animal on it, a blanket in just the right colours, or something completely different: send me your idea and I'll talk you through the details.

kind words
Alice made me some beautiful mittens which I am in love with. I want the cold weather to stay just so I can keep wearing them!
I sent an old hoodie of mine to be made into a tote-type bag and it's perfect! Exactly what I wanted and very well made. They even used the hood to make me a little drawstring bag.
Received my lovely little Santa sacks today. They are so cute, thank you Alice.
Made so quickly but such good quality!
Lovely stockings and Christmas trees, such lovely ideas.
Got some lovely cute bits for the baby, thank you!

one of my four quality controllers
hello, I'm Alice
I taught myself to crochet during lockdown and I've had a hook in my hand ever since. My very first commission was a little bear bonnet, and I still love being asked to make something new and individual.
Where the name comes from: it started life as Sam's Snug, after Sam, my very first cat. No 39 was my first house. And it's a snug because I make snuggly things from yarn.
The classes came about after I'd struggled with badly written patterns myself and was asked to help finish some kits a friend had been given. Now I teach small, friendly groups using my own simple pattern that's perfect for beginners.
These days I share the snug with four cats, who take their job of "helping" to pack the class kits very seriously.
